About me

Nothing about me when I was younger showed that I would end up going into showbizz, being an entertainer. I was always the weird kid, and I hated having an audience: school plays, recitals, New Years letters for my grandparents,... They were my worst nightmare. And yet here I am.
I became a model after a photographer convinced me to pose for him and I noticed how different it was from a normal photograph. I could become a better version of me, I could put several aspects of my inner life that otherwise never got the chance to flourish into the images. This fascinated me and by continuing to pose and improving my skills, I felt myself grow as a person.
My love for vintage glamour and alternative hobbies later combined, and I switched my blue belt in Ju-jitsu for classes in poledancing and burlesque - for me, this was a fun workout. After some time, as often happens in life, the time came when I needed to pursue my own vision of burlesque and together with 3 friends I left and started Candy Coated Circus.
Initially, we wanted to have fun and work out together by sharing our mutual love for old-timey music and fashion. Quite unexpectedly, though, things got out of control and suddenly we were on stage, making classic and neo-burlesque acts and living our dream, while becoming more like sisters than friends in the process.
While looking to expand my horizons and bring bigger and better acts to Candy Coated Circus, I came up with an idea for a fire burlesque act. I contacted Oersprong, a troupe of ritual fire dancers, to teach me how to use fire fans for my act. I fell in love with the fire and once again, I ended up on stage with it. Together with my partner Tibalt Van Duinkerke, I started Flashpoint Fireshows, which grew to be a performance troupe of 6 artists and is going strong today.
So finally, in a twisted turn of events, the weird kid ended up a model, the fighter ended up a dancer and the one who hated audiences ended up a showgirl.
